The American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) is the national organization of nurses who design, facilitate and manage care. With more than 9,700 members, AONE is the voice of nursing leadership in health care. AONE is a subsidiary of the American Hospital Association.

AONE supports the following core principles:

  • A robust and diverse nursing workforce is essential to the health of all Americans.
  • Nurses are integral members of the health care team and are critical to achieving the Triple Aim: improving quality of care to individuals, improving the health of communities and simultaneously reducing costs.
  • Affordable, accessible, quality health care and improved patient outcomes depend upon patient-centered and comprehensive care provided by interprofessional partnerships of physicians, nurses and other health professionals.
  • Nursing data is central to improve patient outcomes, quality, safety and the delivery of population-based care.
